JOB LOCATION

With the famed Los Angeles Financial District on the east and the lively Miracle mile District on the West, Nowcom Corporation is ideally located very close to the heart of the city. Nothing in Los Angeles seems to be too far from where Nowcom is located on Wilshire.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD

• Have excellent problem solving & analytical skill.
• Have in-depth knowledge of DBMS Internals.
• Be well versed with various data modeling techniques.
• Have hands on experience in designing and implementing database solutions.
• Be comfortable with writing complex & optimized SQL queries, preferably MS SQL 2005 / 2008.
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be a self starter, motivated, deadline oriented and a quick grasper.
• Have a Masters degree in Engineering, MIS or related field.
• Have 4+ years or commensurate experience.
• Have experience in designing and implementing data warehouses using dimensional modeling.

ADDED PLUS

• Experience in designing and developing database schema for Insurance applications, specifically property and casualty insurance, will be an added advantage.
• Database related certifications like MCITP & OCP.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Work with Business Analysts to gather requirements.
• Design, develop and maintain OLTP and reporting applications.
• T-SQL Programming (e.g. stored procedures, functions, triggers)
• Database Objects Design (e.g. tables, views, indexes, constraints, partitions)
• ETL Programming (SSIS / BusinessObjects)
• Ensure integrity, reliability & quality of data.
• Troubleshoot production performance issues.
