The Nowcom desktop support team is responsible for deploying, maintaining and repairing over 1,300 Windows 7 and 8 desktops and laptops for all companies in the Hankey Group of Companies (listed here: http://hankeygroup.com/companies.aspx). The team also supports all standard software like Office and Acrobat as well as company-specific software. Day to day management of users and computers within Active Directory and Exchange. The team also supports our Avaya and Microsoft Lync phone systems.

Nowcom is aggressively looking for an entry level or experienced Desktop Support Engineer with 1+ years of experience in a corporate or small business environment.


  • Prepares and schedules computer setup, configuration and delivery or replacement
  • Provides telephone, email and in-person technical assistance for day to day computer issues related to hardware and software
  • Maintains asset inventory records for hardware and software along with license usage
  • Displays continuous improvement of current practices and procedures
  • Candidates must have the ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. of equipment
  • Candidates must be eligible to work permanently in the US


An ideal candidate would::

  • Have 1+ years supporting Windows 7 and/or 8 corporate or small business environment
  • Be self-motivated – enjoys the challenge of diagnosing, troubleshooting, researching, and resolving computer issues.
  • Have experience creating and managing users and computers from Active Directory, and Exchange.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware, as well as standard business software like Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Have experience repairing Dell brand desktops and/or laptops
  • Reliable transportation to work off sites.


Added Plus:

  • Certifications such as A+, Network+ or Microsoft are a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Experience with IP desk phones or softphones such as Avaya or Microsoft Lync
  • Have experience supporting multifunction and standard printers
  • Have some experience supporting Macs and Mac OSX
